A Message From "Pops" Biddick

We’ve been doing Rural Route 1 Popcorn now since the early 80’s. So much has changed in that time. What started out as an experiment with 25 acres has grown into a national award winning product line-up. Our first product, a simple 2 pound ziplock bag of popcorn, still remains but it shares the limelight with some very fancy popcorn we have developed over the years.

As you browse through our site, you can see what additions we have made to our popcorn line-up. It has also taken an addition to our facilities to keep up with the growth. In ’93 we built a new plant and then in ‘98 we doubled it. By ‘99 we added on again and quadrupled our space for making chocolate popcorn. In 2007 our production facility added space for making microwave popcorn, while our retail store in Montfort added more space for customers! Getting more exposure in the Fancy Food industry, adding more fundraising customers, finding a niche in the gift basket business and adding to our family of mail order customers keeps us quite busy and we are excited about that.

We feel so good about the uniqueness and quality of our products, but we feel even better about having the opportunity to share them with people who truly love popcorn too. Based on all the letters and stories we hear from satisfied customers, it is very rewarding to do what we do everyday, and besides part of our job is to taste test regularly....so for all the above we are happy and thankful.
